We Value Our Community
At the SPAC Lab, we love to connect with people and are always looking for ways to bring our research to the community. We believe one of the most important parts of our work as researchers is giving back to local people. That's why we are seeking out partnerships with teachers, parents, and students in the Knoxville area to host workshops about vision science and visual illusions.
In our workshops, we cover a variety of topics: cool and wacky optical illusions; how psychology researchers design experiments to learn more about how our brains see the world; and how anyone, regardless of who they are or where they come from, can become a scientist. Our team's ultimate goal is to share the exciting world of scientific research with k -12 kids and inspire them to dream really, really big!
